You will become an advocate for improving internal and external facing communications for Girlguiding South West England and be an ambassador for the values of Girlguiding. We want to ensure that as an organisation we are reaching as many people as we can, with the lead volunteer (LV) providing leadership and guidance to help support counties and islands in communications and PR.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the region’s international social media pages.
- Be an active member of the inclusive and impactful committee, attending 3 meetings a year (1 in person).
- To attend and co-chair the region counties and islands Public Relations Advisors (PRAs)/Membership Growth and Retention (MGR) termly meeting with responsibilities for Communications
- Assist the chief commissioner team with the recruitment of volunteers for roles in the Communications and PR team.
- Oversee project teams as required to develop and deliver relevant projects and provide support to local levels in meeting their growth plans.
Communications for young members:
- Support counties and islands with the recruitment of new young members.
- Support counties and islands reaching out to parents
- Development of resources to help with transition and retention of young members.
Communications for adult members:
- Support counties and islands with the recruitment of adult volunteers.
- Support counties and islands with communication and ideas
- Develop training for volunteers on communication.
- Support other lead volunteers in projects that require comms and PR expertise.
