I began my journey Guiding journey with becoming a Brownie in a small village in Cornwall. I later lived in Germany for four years, and after returning to the UK, my eldest daughter joined the local Brownie unit, where I started as a parent helper. I soon became a leader, and when my District Commissioner asked what I hoped to do in the future, I said I would love to have my own unit. Just two weeks later, I was asked to take over another Brownie unit and that’s where my journey truly began.
Over the years, I have taken on many different roles, eventually becoming County Commissioner, something I never imagined I would do. The friendships I have made, and the many dedicated volunteers I have, and continue to meet, throughout my guiding journey, have been truly special.
Before retiring, I worked as a teaching assistant, alongside coaching netball and hockey in a school. Today, I continue to run two units: Rainbows and Brownies. One of the most special moments was enrolling my granddaughter into Rainbows.
