Can you help us inspire and reach even more girls and young women? Do you have a specialism that you want to promote? Or do you know someone else who you think would be a great representative for our Region? We are looking for nominations for candidates to become part of our newly launched Region Ambassador scheme! Please see the role description and complete the expression of interest form if you are interested in becoming an ambassador.

We understand that one size does not always fit all – the responsibilities of an ambassador will vary as it is a flexible voluntary role, designed to fit around the individual, and as such there is no minimum time commitment.

Why we love this role

You will become an inspiring role model for our members and help empower girls and women to do their best and to think and look outside the box. You will join our 11,000 amazing volunteers and supporters who make a real difference to our 45,000 girls and young women across the Region. You will support young people in your community to get the most out of the opportunities at Girlguiding and everything it has to offer.

This role will play a key part in the delivery of the Inclusive and Impactful element of the Region Strategy for 2022-24, helping to grow the reach of Girlguiding South West England.

Terms & Conditions

Anyone within the Region (see where we cover here) can put forward a candidate for consideration. Candidates may also self-nominate. Candidates do NOT need to be existing members of Guiding to become an Ambassador.

We will assess applications on an individual basis and, if suitable, we will arrange an informal meeting to discuss your application and the role. Successful applicants will be invited to come into the Region office to meet the Region team and we will officially welcome you into the scheme.

Please see our privacy notice for guidance about how your personal information will be used and stored.

Girlguiding welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, ages, cultures, faiths and abilities. We are flexible, and volunteering can be arranged to fit around a busy lifestyle. Girlguiding is committed to making reasonable adjustments to support disabled volunteers, so they have access to the same opportunities and experiences as non-disabled volunteers. Please note this is a volunteer role and does not form part of any contract of employment.
