Rainbow Unit Meeting

The people of Guernsey have achieved over 60 COVID free days which is fantastic news and as a result, Sally Carmichael, Girlguiding Guernsey's Bailiwick Commissioner, explained the local situation in an application to Girlguiding - and received permission for the Island's members to meet together again.

Many thanks to Kara-Jane Senior who is a Leader with 8th Swindon Guides and Rangers who has sent in a great story about all the brilliant activities the unit have been enjoying during their weekly online meetings - they even took part in a virtual camp which was organised by Northumberland Scouts and involved over 95,000 people 'camping out' all over the world on 30th April/1st May.

Many thanks to the Mum of a Guide in Gloucestershire who has written in to tell us how 13 year old Chloe kept herself busy over Easter - when she should have been taking part in a Region ICE trip to Dublin.  Emma was so disappointed that the trip had to be cancelled because of the pandemic that she decided to camp out in the garden - and 19 days later she was still there!  Chloe's Mum said the Unit Leaders 'have been amazing' and had been setting their girls all kinds of challenges to complete over Easter and beyond, adding, 'They are true ambassadors/role models for the Girl Guiding [sic] community'.
