Many thanks to the Mum of a Guide in Gloucestershire who has written in to tell us how 13 year old Chloe kept herself busy over Easter - when she should have been taking part in a Region ICE trip to Dublin. Emma was so disappointed that the trip had to be cancelled because of the pandemic that she decided to camp out in the garden - and 19 days later she was still there! Chloe's Mum said the Unit Leaders 'have been amazing' and had been setting their girls all kinds of challenges to complete over Easter and beyond, adding, 'They are true ambassadors/role models for the Girl Guiding [sic] community'.
Girlguiding Isle of Wight invited some special guests along to help them celebrate World Thinking Day this year. The Island's Lord Lieutenant, Susie Sheldon JP, the Island's High Sheriff, Geoff Underwood, and the Chairman of the Council for the Isle of Wight, Cllr George Cameron.
Many congratulations to Tamsen Wetherall on receiving the British Empire Medal in the New Year's Honours 'For services to Charitable Fundraising and to Girlguiding in Bridgewater'.
