On Saturday 20 April around 400 young members, leaders, and their families joined us at Beale Park, for what turned out to be a fabulous fun fun-filled day.

We were lucky enough to be joined by our amazing region ambassador Holly Webb; Children’s author, who spoke about her time in Girlguiding, becoming an author, and her book ‘The Lost Bear Cub’ as well as a chance to hear from our new Chief Commissioner, Racheal.

We had a range of activities available from, making cute bear cub bookmarks with Holly, and swirly mobile snakes and even a hopping origami frog, which was quite the task.

Our young members and their families also got to explore what the park had to offer. A diesel train named Howard, took you around the park so you could see the different animals. A visit to the reptile house, a walk around the gorgeous gardens, and a variety of play areas to choose from with everything from a bouncy pillow and a zip wire to a paddling pool and a sandpit. Although still a little chilly for the paddling pool just yet!

The buzz and excitement throughout the whole day was palpable and the smiles on everyone's faces were evidence of a successful day.
