On Friday 10 November, as part of UK Parliament Week which runs every November, girls from all sections visited the region office to attend a Q&A session with Caroline Nokes MP and our Making a Difference region ambassador, Eleanor.
We started the evening with a game of ‘If I were an MP’ with answers including ‘sweets for every Rainbow’, ‘free public toilets for everyone’ and ‘every girl should have the chance to be a Rainbow or Brownie’.
There was also the chance to ask Caroline, who is the chair of the Women and Equalities Committee, questions about her role as an MP. We talked about having anti-bullying ambassadors in schools, as well as the importance of having a range of people and experiences in Parliament. Eleanor, our region ambassador, was also asked how girls could make a difference locally.
Thanks to everyone who attended, it was a fantastic evening.
