We are delighted to welcome the newest ambassador to the crew!

"Hi! I’m Debbie Janson, a Mechanical Engineer from Bath. I’ve worked in engineering for around 20 years across various industries and have worked on everything from cars to planes to packaging and seating. I now work at the University of Bath, teaching students how to work together in diverse teams and on real-world problems. I also conduct research, particularly looking at products and processes that have been historically designed around men, for example, hand tools (and many others!).

I’m really passionate about getting girls interested in engineering and other STEM subjects. Engineers are all about solving real-world problems – making life better for people and the planet. But to do that, we need a full cross-section of people solving those problems so that all of our voices are heard!

I’m fairly new to the Girlguiding South West England world, with my youngest daughter joining Guides a couple of years ago. I was astounded by the commitment and kindness of the amazing leaders, and being part of the Girlguiding community has given my daughter so many opportunities. I was thrilled to be invited to be an Ambassador and really relish the opportunity to give something back."
