The Pax Lodge Inspire Weekend, which took place from 17th - 19th March 2023, was an opportunity for 18-30 aged Guiding members from across the South West Region to come together for a weekend of fun, friendship and lots of laughter!
The Friday night kicked off with a social space and Inspire Picnic, with mountains of food to go around as well as some badge sewing, crafts and games. Many members completed the Pax Lodge challenge around the centre and got to know the members of staff and volunteers working during the weekend.
On Saturday, our Inspire members enjoyed a traditional World Centre flag ceremony and for those visiting Pax Lodge for the first time, a special pinning ceremony where you are awarded the World Centre pin for visiting in person. Every world centre has a different pin, with many Guiding members from around the World looking to collect all five pins by visiting each of the World Centres!
Our members left Pax Lodge for the day, with many heading to the ICANDO HQ, opposite Buckingham Palace Mews, raiding the shop of new badges and branded items! During the day there were many trips to theatres, sightseeing, Harry Potter, Paddington and Monopoly Challenges as well as lots of shopping on Oxford Street and photos with Royal Horse Guards!
Once back at Pax Lodge, everyone enjoyed having the time and freedom to socialise, as well as network with those that they might not have seen throughout the day. It was an opportunity to bounce ideas and opportunities around for more events like this! On Sunday morning, we closed the event at breakfast time with everyone slowly making their way back home. It was a fantastic event, with lots of happy smiling faces and good memories to last a lifetime!
