We have now clocked up over 4,394 miles on The Great Region Ramble, which is almost four laps of the Region! Wiltshire South are leading the way having covered 627 miles - including 79 miles walked by 2nd Tidworth Brownies. Brilliant!
Don't stop rambling while you are on your holidays: that stroll along the beach, visit to a stately home or National Trust property, or day spent in a National Park or exploring a cathedral city, all those steps count towards the total. So whether you are at home or abroad, remember to keep a tally and let us know how far you have covered.
We will add your miles/km to our 'Ramble Calculator' and keep you updated via the Region Website and Facebook page with the current distance covered, and how the various Counties and Islands are performing. We will also bring you news of any special achievements, so do keep in touch with us on Facebook and Twitter - #GreatRegionRamble.
We have produced a Challenge Sheet with new outdoor activities to be completed during your ramble, whether you are out in the countryside, at the beach, or in a city or town. Complete five of these to qualify for our fabulous new badge - there is something for every age and many of the activities will also count towards your UMA's and Skill Builders. As always, the activities can be adapted to suit any special circumstances.
