Diversity and inclusion is about embracing and celebrating our differences, and ensuring we give all our members, both girls and volunteers, the same chances. It is something we are passionate about as an organisation and we would like to introduce you to the region's Inclusion Team.

Lead volunteer, Yvonne Lepage

"Hi I'm Yvonne and I'm delighted to be taking on this role. I am passionate about inclusion and making sure that everyone feels that they can belong in our organisation and that we can welcome everybody to wants to come to join us.

I am a Guide leader and district commissioner in Guernsey and a trainer and tutor. In the past I have had several country roles and have been the Bailiwick (county) commissioner and the SWE region trainer coordinator.  I hope that together with the rest of the Inclusion team, I can use my experience to help support leaders in any way they need. Please do get in touch with us if you think we can help".

"I’m Zahari, I’m a Brownie Leader in Wellington, Somerset, and county inclusion advisor. I've been in the organisation over 10 years and been a leader in Rainbows and Guides and served as division commissioner during that time too. I have lived experience of disability, including Neurodiversity and issues facing the LGBTQ+ community. I am passionate about inclusion and want to support our advisors and leaders to feel confident in including people of any background, within our charitable objectives."

A note from the team...

We want to highlight the inclusion advisers across the counties and islands who make up the bigger inclusion team. We are working together to promote and support inclusion for girls and volunteers across the whole region. If you don't already know, please take time to find out who your local inclusion adviser is. You can also find a huge range of inclusion resources and information on the Girlguiding website. These include adjustment plans, communication passports and wellbeing plans that are highlighted in the Diversity and Inclusion e-learning on the Learning Platform. Please take a look if you haven't already. Click here.
